MediBang Paint is a FREE lightweight digital painting and comic creation program that comes loaded with brushes, fonts, pre-made backgrounds, and other resources.

There are many drawing tools that allow all computer users to create decent pieces of art even if they are not graphic artists. However, different tools have their drawbacks. MediBang Paint Pro for Windows is designed to make the process easy irrespective of one's skill level. The lightweight, user-friendly and free comic creation tool is compatible with different devices and platforms, but we are going to focus on the desktop version in this review.

The software, which used to be called CloudAlpaca, has received significant upgrade following user feedback. The developers have rebuilt almost everything from scratch without losing the program's user friendliness.

Using MediBang Paint Pro for Windows

The program's graphical user interface appeared more appealing to us compared to its predecessor. However, the appearance would have meant little had the program failed us in its functionality, but its overall performance impressed us.

We could create comic images from scratch or use existing pictures to design the cartoons we wanted. The program is compatible with common image formats like JPG, PNG, GIF and BMP.

We had different graphics processing tools at our disposal, including Magic wands, gradient modifiers and all the other common drawing tools. Unlike many drawing applications, the software allowed us to draw in multiple layers and duplicate the items we wanted easily.

In addition to the graphics tools, MediBang Paint Pro for Windows came with premade screen-tones, buildings and backgrounds. We could also download others from the cloud server. The software supported various effects and allowed us to customize textures.

Cloud storage enabled us to access and work on our drawings from different locations so long as we could connect to the Internet. This feature can come in handy when you change your computer as it will let you continue right where you left off.

The program's collaboration feature let us form groups with other users so that we could work on comic projects together. Saving work in the cloud made it easy for all group members to share files and work seamlessly. We could even share custom tools and features to have more resources to use in our projects.

Once we had completed our comic projects, we saved them in different image formats that people using different devices and operating systems could view easily.

MediBang Paint Pro for Windows is set to become the preferred comic creation tool for many users not only because it is free but also due to its powerful features that rival commercial programs. It allows users from different backgrounds to express themselves artistically. Its lightweight graphics engine ensures that it can run on almost any system.
